Liverpool and Arsenal battle it out for French star !

Liverpool and Arsenal are supposedly locked in a battle to sign Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri according to reports in the Telegraph.

Nasri is highly regarded in his home nation of France and has already made 7 appearances for the World Cup Runners up at the tender age of 20. The attacking midfielder has also impressed on the European stage putting in some good performances in the Champions League.

Both Benitez and Wenger are thought to be interested in the youngster and it has been suggested that Marseille are asking for around £10 million for their number 22.

After seeing him play on a few occasions, I would certainly like to see him come and play in the Premier League and I think that he is a definitely a hot prospect for the future... Well worth his £10 million price tag.

Liverpool eye up £22 million trio !

Liverpool are targeting Real Madrid's Gabriel Heinze and Athletic Bilbao duo Fernando Amorebieta and Javi Martinez according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.

Liverpool were strongly linked with a move for Heinze during the Summer, but stories developed about United boss Alex Ferguson, being unwilling to let the Argenitine join their rivals.
Martinez is a 19 year old central midfielder who has really impressed in La Liga in recent times. Both him and team mate Fernando Amorebieta were linked earlier in the month with a move to Anfield. Rafa Benitez is thought to have a scout tracking both players progress.
Madrid's Heinze would be likely to cost the club about £6 million and the pair of Bilbao players would be at an estimated cost of about £16 million.

Unsettled Liverpool star vows future to club !

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has today said that he will stay at Liverpool and fight for his place in the side according to reports on Sky Sports.

The former Southampton forward has managed just four league starts for The Reds this season and reports have been linking the 26 year old with a move away from Anfield.

However the player understands that he will have to work for his place in the team and in a recent statement on the club's website Crouch said, "Everyone talks about me talking to clubs. Maybe it's because I'm not playing every game,"

"But at a club like Liverpool you're not going to play every game... I've come to realise that this is the case at a club like this, whereas at somewhere else maybe you would play every game... But here we are competing for things and I certainly want to be a part of winning trophies."

Personally as a Liverpool fan I would like to see Crouch get more of a prominent role in the side and I certainly think he should be starting ahead of Dirk Kuyt and Voronin. So I for one hope that Crouchy is with us for a good while yet.

DIC set to launch £500 million for Liverpool stake !

Dubai International Capital are set to launch a £500 million bid for Liverpool according to reports on BBC Sport.

Current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have been a bit of a nuisance to say the least since their arrival last year. And hopefully the slip up of publicising their meeting Jurgen Klinsmann will finally spell the end of their reign of terror on Anfield.

City sign Liverpool star !

Chester City have signed Liverpool striker Craig Lindfield an a month long loan according to reports on Sky Sports.

Lindfield has not yet made a first team appearance for The Reds but has prominently featured in both the youth and reserve teams over the past few years.

I have seen this guy play and he definitely looks like a star for the future after his performances in last year's FA Youth Cup.
